What to do about clothing - other than buying

I'm thinking this will be me. My pants are so gathered right now because I had to make my belt so tight. It's a good thing, but 1-2 pairs of pants that fit would be so much better!

I've actually recently seen some interesting posts on Pinterest about easy ways to alter clothing after loosing weight. And it didn't require much work at all. I was impressed! There were some pretty interesting posts that you may be interested in...  Unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure where on Pinterest it was, but I'm sure you could browse and find it quiet easily...

I did find a couple things about taking clothes in. I *might* have the seamstress skills to do that. I'll see.

But if you ever come across any of the links you had seen, please feel free to share!

There are some nice and well tailored clothes in thrift stores. I was shopping there before surgery and most so know. You just have to take you time be patient, it is worth the hunt. My favorite thrift store is America thrift store here in baton rouge la, I shop there more than I do Walmart, the clothes are finer and cheaper than Walmart. Which you well on your journey!

Thanks! I guess I'll go by our thrift store again today. I feel like in my area all the plus sized ladies who donate must be about 30 years older than me. There's not much I would actually wear - even as desperate as I am!

Might be time to find a new store!

As you go down in sizes you will find that there are cuter smaller plus sizes available at thrift stores.

It is really easy to take in t-shirts.  I do have a serger (or is it surger?) and I start at the hem and sew right up to the wrist.  Even though t-shirts are cheap I had a ton of them and they fit!  Pants are harder but I take up the inseam first and shorten the crouch, which helps.  Then I take a bigger bite out of the butt and the back seam.  If the waist is still too large I take it off the sides.  It sounds like a lot of work but the alternative is pricey.

I made a stop at our local Salvation Army. There's no need in investing expensive clothes at this point in my weight loss journey.

I shop at Salvation Army. I shop st several of them... the one closest to me does not have the best selection, so if I have the time I drive s little farther. Local papers offer coupons for the SA... and you can stack them... if I have 2 coupons for $7 off $25 or more, I divide my purchase into 2 orders!
They also have 1/2 price days... usually Wednesday... in the front of the store a sign will announce a certain color tag is 1/2 price!
I try to go when I have plenty of time to look and try things on.
I get lots of name brand stuff in great condition... just need to look for i****ch for stains, etc. I found a few things with store tags still on them!
