Tummy Hurting, trying to vomit, nothing there

I am 5 months out today, I have been having this tummy problem for a few months now and they think its gastritis and maybe IBS..  Never had the dry heaves or even vomit since surgery... Is there something I can do... I am scared I am going to tear something plus I already have a pulled muscle in my back..

Did the Dr recommend lots of fiber?

Because food exits the pouch fairly quickly (about 20-30 minutes for a meal, depending on the density of it), there is likely nothing in your pouch most of the time TO throw up.  Also, because the pouch is so small, the amount of muscle available to force the vomiting is greatly reduced (from your natural stomach) and many people have trouble with trying to vomit after RNY.  Others learn to use their abdominal muscles to help with the process. I have only vomited a couple of times in six years and all those times there was food (or barium!) in my pouch and it came up all on its own... I couldn't have stopped it if I had wanted to!

Has your doctor given you any medication to help with the nausea/heaving?  If not, I would certainly ask.

Thanks Everyone... I just tried calling again, waiting on a call back.   The doctor didn't recommend lots of fiber, with this hurting I can't eat, having a hard time drinking also.   I have already went through a bottle of carfate and the pills he prescribed I was hoping it would take care of it and it didn't.   Guess I will have to travel to Pensacola again and see the doc.  I just want a answer to what is going on, 3 months of hurting I think is being patient enough to see if it will resolve.   It's weird it seems to start hurting about 12:00 every day... To the right of my belly button, strange.
