Tattoo's after Question

Wondering health wise if anyone had any idea the best time period to wait to get a tattoo after major surgery is? I am planning to get something on my  inner arch of my foot down the road so shrinking isn't an issue but obviously I need to wait a while after surgery.

First I think that's going to be a very painful spot to get tattooed, and I have no idea how you plan to walk afterward. But with that small of a tattoo bleeding should be minimal, once your doctor clears you from restrictions it should be fine. But I must ask, why on your foot, there are other places that typically don't shrink much like the upper part of the shoulder blade.

True victory comes at the very end, when you can say, " I lived, and will gladly do it again." View "failure" as a setback, and meet each accomplishment with a larger goal.

I think it looks feminine and I had always wanted to get a tattoo but could not find a spot I really liked until a friend had this done.

I want to have the inscription A dream is a wish your heart makes on my left foot it starts at the heal and flows down to the big toe.

I know it will hurt like crazy but its the  only one I have ever wanted enough to start looking for a tattoo artist. When I was younger I had my tongue pierced 3 times and my septum and was told that the pain is similar but just more constant obviously. My friend said that the worse part is keeping your foot still.

I have a few tattoos - including one on my foot - let me tell you that this is going to be pretty painful!!!!  You also won't be able to wear socks or shoes for a couple of weeks, so make sure the weather is going to be your friend too ...  It could be quite the adventure wearing flip flops in the snow!!!!

I have Live, Laugh, Love flowing down the side of my foot where you want yours it wasn't that painful but remember you have a lot of nerves there and your foot will jerk a lot not that you are doing it but because of the nerves. Mine didn't bleed at all but I would wait for your surgeon to clear you as well.

I have a tattoo on the inner arch of my left foot, I got it in December, and I had no trouble wearing shoes after (although I did wear flip flops there, no snow on the ground that day.)  I have other tattoos, and to me, that one hurt the most.  My mom (69 years old!) got a matching tattoo there the same day, and hers didn't hurt at all!

I got mine at a year out but I don't see why you couldn't get it much sooner.

Thank you. I was thinking about seeing if I could do it while still off work so it could heal for a week before I got back to work but I honestly think it is just too soon. :(

Your body will already be going through a LOT to try to heal from surgery when you are eating almost nothing.  The last thing you want to do is give it something else it needs to heal up when you aren' t supplying it with much nutrition.  I would personally also be concerned about the risk of infection with your body already being taxed.

No idea about anything else, but GIIIIIIRRRRRRL!!! The foot is a god awful painful place to get a tat. I had the top of my foot done on July 3rd....It swelled like I was 9 months pregnant and retaining serious water. It took a few weeks to not hurt if something brushed against it. It's still sore if my kids step on it or something. That was my 7th tattoo and by far the worst one of all. I was never affected by the pain like I was this one. I almost passed out in the chair the pain was so bad. Good luck though! If you get it done, take pics!! :) I can't wait to lose the weight so I can start getting all my bucket list tats!!
