It was recommended to me to do filet mignon by my nutritionist and I tolerate it well. My husband tried a strip steak and handles that well.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
Mmmmm, beef! Nothing tastes so good to me as a peppered steak (filet) salad with blue cheese! I have issues with roast beef (if cooked alone), but pot roast in crock pot is fantastic as is hamburger, steak tips, filet mignon, chili, shepard's pie, lasagna cupcakes, meatloaf... Holy cow, I have to stop, I'm making myself drool and it's only breakfast time! ~grin~
Early out meat was touch and go for me. Now I enjoy meat again. I don't eat anything that is overcooked to the point of being dry. Thus I've gone from a well done filet to medium or medium well depending on the restaurant. Early out I ate ground meat and then was able to eat dark meat chicken and turkey because it was more moist than white meat but now I am back to my preferred white meat. Most of my RNY friends don't have issues with meat after awhile. However, I know one man that is close to five years post op that says he can't eat any meat. He says he eats a lot of peanut butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, and beans.
