OT - Theft by a maid

I was in Minn. MN this past weekend to take my 21 yr old sister to see Taylor Swift we stayed at a hotel there and my ipad went missing. I spoke with management who swore that none of their maids would ever steal anything from a clients room and that it would turn up I must have misplaced it. So I check out still no ipad this morning my photostream on my macbook pulled in a ton of pictures of the maid that cleaned my room having a great old time taking pictures at a party last night with my phone. 

At this time she is being escorted to her house to return the ipad and she is being fired. I am glad I am getting back my ipad but feel bad that she is being fired but understand you cant have someone cleaning individuals rooms that would steal. 

I have learned my lesson always use the safe or take valuables with you when you leave the room :(

I wouldn't feel bad for her, she did it and needs to suffer the consequences of her actions.  I'm glad they located your iPad.

I'm so happy you are getting your IPad back, too.  I've had 2 bikes stolen and caught another theft in the act so I know how it feels to have ripped off.  I have zero sympathy for thieves.  None.  In fact I would like to see us go back to the old days where thieves have their hands cut off and see them try to steal things with their little stumpy hands.  I work for what I have and everyone has the same opportunities.  I wish they would create a far off island for thieves so they can live with each other and see how it feels to have their things taken.

Aww I am sorry to hear that you have had such a bad experience with your bikes. When I was younger it happened a lot in the neighborhood I lived in but this is the first time in a very long time I have had anything stolen and I was just kinda in shock. I am glad that its on its way back to me :)

Why do you feel bad that she is getting fired?  She is lucky you didn't press charges and she's not going to jail.

I know I am feeling less bad about it the more I think about it. I am not the one that made the choice to steal so that was a chance she took and your correct she is lucky that I and the hotel are not prosecuting her. Which means she at least has the opportunity to look for other employment without a police record. 

Which I think is a mistake because she will most likely steal from her next job, as well.  She should have charges pressed against her and she deserves to have this on her record to protect others from her.  She will only get smarter and learn from her mistakes so she won't get caught again.

 ...without a police record. 

She probably already has one.
