Yes.  500 mg at a time, for a total of 1500 to 2000 mg per day.

Walgreens has a their own brand. 250mg per pill. I take 2 at a time. It has D3 in it as well.

WOS (whatever's on sale) at the local drugstore in the petite size, usually store brand (cause their cheaper and have the same ingredients as say Citracal brand).  Like I said, whatever's on sale:  calcium citrate petites...if they've got extra stuff in them (like D3 or Magnesium) wooHoo it's a bonus!

Not bothering,,..YET to read other posters before I responded to this, I suspect I will be repeating at least a couple of other posters. ANYWHOOOO, I also did not want the extra calories by way of those yummy bariatric advantage caramel chews. In addition, I found them expensive so used them only ONCE a day as a treat at bedtime,...something to look forward to. For my morning 500mg I went with UPCAL D powder. Mixed it into a small amount of (my favorite) Crystal Light Fruit punch. One thing to know about that stuff, you have to stir/mix it RIGHT before you drink it or it VERY quickly settles to the bottom of the glass. It's FAR more cost effective and save the caramel chews for a bedtime treat.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I am thinking Upcal D is the way to go, I can mix it into my shake or something, does it mix well in plain water (and any taste to it? ) ?

Another question also, I see the Upcal D on Amazon, are the packets worth it or should I just get a 20 oz. container? It seems inexpensive either way. Is 1 packet = 1 dose of 500mg calcium +D3?
