Totally OT: a sunny Sunday with no work or school tasks!
It is sunny (for now) and reasonably cool here today (81, which is awesome for August in Ohio!). I don't need to work to get anything done for a deadline, I have no mandatory reading or homework, have no dissertation to work on, no defense to prep for. I literally cannot remember the last time I could say that! Somehow, though, it seems "wrong" that -- even though it is so beautiful outside and I do need to vacuum, mow the lawn, brush Gus, and clean up the family room and bathroom -- I just want to stay in my pajamas and watch movies (or read the fiction novel I downloaded to my iPad) all day. I did the grocery shopping, laundry, and dishes yesterday, but still... the grass (which isnt TOO high...) and the dog....
Yep, gonna just leave the windows open, leave the back door open so Gus can go in and out the doggie door, and stay in my jammies! Maybe look for just the right spot to hang my diploma, LOL.
The neighbors will just have to deal with the grass for another day or two.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Yes, it IS good therapy, and I have taken the occasional "slug day" when I was feeling overwhelmed over the last 7 years, but this is the first time I can do it just because I can! I will probably brush Gus a little bit later, but the grass will have to wait. Right now, I am going to have some lunch and watch a movie that has been on my DVR for 9 months!

It is a gorgeous NON sunny day here, which for August in NC is a true blessing! Our current temp is mid 60 something and man alive, is it wonderful! We have left our back door open and the dogs have gone in and out about a dozen times, they love being able to just wander in and out!
We have a birthday party and some errands to attend to this afternoon, but this morning has been pretty laid back and I am LOVING it!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
Gus loves being able to wander in and out through the doggie door. He has to come in, though, if I move at all from my seat (even if i am just going immediately around the corner to the half bath!) just to check on me. He is such a good guard dog (although my mom says I should refer to him as a "watch dog" instead so people won't be intimidated. If they don't know me well enough to know Gus's temperament, I want them to be a little intimidated by his royal furry highness! LOL Later, when I settle into the LaZBoy for the nap I have decided that I deserve ;) he will come up on the foot of the chair and snooze with me ****il he gets too hot)... All 68 pounds of him!
