NSV - Finally enjoying exercise!!
Ever since I started working with a trainer last week I am feeling so much more energized and excited to exercise. Granted my legs feel like jello the day after a 30min session, but I LOVE how amazing I feel mentally after, no comparison to before. This morning I jogged/ran a mile with my DH and loaded up my new Nike run app to keep track of it, I feel so motivated and excited to work out now! I am someone who literally has not done anything even resembling running since I was in the 7th grade, so this is a huge deal for me. I used to feel tormented in school every year when we had fitness tests, especially to run the mile. I was always very, very overweight as a child and my stamina was terrible, it was a nightmarish experience for me. I have never felt happy to exercise in my life until now...I am actually considering going back to the gym again today and doing a 15min interval session on the treadmill, 2 weeks ago even I would've dreaded doing so. I highly recommend to people who are new to exercise and just starting out post op to meet with a personal trainer even for just a consultation (most consults are free with a gym membership - mine was, then I signed up for once a week 30min sessions after). It's great to finally know what half the equipment *does* at the gym and to have someone to be accountable to. The pounds are really melting off the last week too, I am so happy with my progress right now.

Yeah for you!! I know what you mean. I was never an 'exerciser' and now, I love it and actually look forward to it!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
So glad to hear your excitement and commitment to exercising. Proud of you.! I'm a newbie and just joined a gym. I have a foot injury which limits my activity but do participate in water aerobics. It really feels good to do something physical for a change and the emotional lift is enjoyable also. Keep it up !
I am so glad you are starting to like exercise. Make it a part of your life and don't let anything get in your way. Like you I have terrible memories of being the last picked for the team and running the dreaded mile. I was in tears because I thought I would fail PE because I had to walk a few steps. Now I find my day "off" if I skip a day at the gym.
