2.2 Week Liquid Diet

I started my two week and two day liquid diet today. I do better starting things on a Monday so I am doing an extra two days. So I am feeling good not hungry but man does the protein taste bad for the most part today. My first one a strawberry with almond milk was great! But then I tried a nectar strawberry kiwi and almost threw up. The chocolate shake I had after was so so.

My diet is complete liquid, 5 protein shakes, water, 1 v8 (low sodium), and broth.

Any suggestions for variety?

I looked up old threads but they focused more on how tough the process was rather than protein recommendations.

I am buying the JayRobb Dreamsicle on the way home and hope that with some orange sunrise crystal light will work as a less creamy option.

I might also check in daily as a way to keep accountability.

Thanks

Try different protein drinks.  Some you'll like, some you won't.  You can mix it with water, milk, soy milk, almond milk, crystal light, etc to change it up.

You can also mix it in hot drinks like decaf coffee or sugar free hot chocolate.  To mix it in hot drinks, mix the powder with an ounce or two of milk or room temp water and stir it to make a paste.  Then stir that paste into the hot drink.

You can also add a spoonful of decaf instant coffee crystals to a chocolate or vanilla shake - I love that with a vanilla shake.

You can stick a shake in the freezer for a little while, stirring it occasionally, until it gets frosty and kinda like a milkshake - if you freeze it for an hour or so, stirring every 15 minutes or so, it gets a frosty-like consistency.  Not real thick and creamy like real ice cream, but pretty yummy.

You can also add baking extracts, like you could put coconut extract or peppermint extract in a chocolate shake.  Just put a couple drops, a little goes a long long way.

Thank you so much for you ideas. I will try some of those things. I am pretty good at doctoring up the vanilla and chocolate shakes ones. I was just hoping that I would like the nectar I really wanted something thinner to drink sometimes.

It might taste better with some crystal light.  Or you might like another flavor of it better.  Also, GNC and Vitamin Shoppe carry ready to drink protein drinks called Isopure and Cytomax, which are sorta like Gatorade.  They are thinner, non-milky consistency.  You can buy just single bottles to see if you like them, although I suggest trying a couple different flavors because you might like one and hate another.

I am a little afraid of the isopures but think I will t least give them a shot... Boyfriend made amazing veggie soup from scratch and strained out broth for me for dinner that and the v8 have saved me.

I'm on my 2 week liquid diet as well. Today is day 7.

Out of the nectars- I LOVE the blue sky, I like the fuzzy navel, and the tart cherry is ok. The others I don't care for. You can buy samples on the vitalady website. The syntrax website also had samples available last month as their special.

Another one that I really like is the Unjury Strawberry Sorbet mixed with Crystal Light lemonaid. Not creamy. Tart and delicious!!

I can have soup and thinned cream of wheat so I have been mixing the non flavored in those as well.

Thanks! I picked up sample of the fuzz navel and a crystal light passion fruit mango to mix in with the J Robb dreamsicle. I am going to try the strawberry mixed with lemonade as well.
