Hi there,

My pcp gave me tramadol which works pretty well and then vicodin for the severe pain.  I use hot showers, walk a lot and use gel packs too when needed.

I just started on cymbalta but that takes a month or so to kick in per MD so I don't know about that yet.

Good luck

Hello, this was one of my biggest concerns about having this surgery. I have pretty bad osteo arthritis and used to be on Daypro for mine. I am 11 months post op now and since my surgery, My doctor has me on Tramadol 3X a day. It does help alot and so does exercise. My PCP constantly assures me that I did the the right thing for my body. She said that as we get older, the weight would have made us almost cripple, even if we were on Arthritis meds..... so hang in there and talk to your doctor about Tramadol.  Good Luck !

I've just started (2 mos ago) Sulfasalazine for my inflammatory autoimmune arthritis and have had good luck.  For the lat 10 year I have been taking naproxen (my bad) but decided to be good  wink
