11 month surgiversary
Where has the time gone? Eleven months ago today I made a life changing decision when I had my RNY. I was diabetic, had uncontrolled blood pressure on 3 pills, had constant back and knee pain to the point that I was considering knee replacement. I had to stop to catch my breath after going down my basement steps. I was miserable and watching life pass me by! This was all I had known because I was even an overweight child. Today I am living a life I could not even imagine last summer. My blood sugar is now normal as is my blood pressure on one low dose pill. I have more energy than ever before. I now walk 3 to 4 miles every day and love it. I have walked 2 5ks and signed up today for a third one! I am now wearing a size 2 down from a tight size 24. At 125 to 126,I weigh half what I did when I started this journey. It hasn't all been easy-I do dump so have to be alert on my food choices and I have to make myself exercise some days. Once I get started though,I feel great! If you are considering surgery today, please don't let fear hold you back. Make the choice, like I did to take your life and your health back! The only regret I have is not doing this sooner because I feel like I missed much of my college age son's lives. At least I can be a good example for them now!
I am where you were too. I can't wait to have surgery. I'm holding my breath and trying to have faith that the Lord will work it out and everything will go good with the insurance. Have two test lined up this week and will have most done by the end of August. Thank you for being a good example to follow.
