wow you are such an inspiration I am 4 months out and I'm so down on myself right now.  I feel I'm eating more than I should I feel like I'm always hungry which I can't tell if it's mind hunger or just hungry.  I've been stuck pretty much at the same weight for a month or so now.  I'm looking for any advise or any help.  I had revision from band to rny on march 27th which i hated the band only had that 6 months and had nothing but problems but I'm so scared that I've stopped losing weight any advice please.

Figure out what you can do differently. I started exercising more, I went shopping, stopped weighing

g myself, and started measuring myself for a size differences. I also increased my calories as I was eating too little.

Check with ur dietician for help and suggestions!

Stay intouch and let me know how u are doing.

the good news is by month 5,it all clicked for me and hopefully it will for u, stick to basics  !

I don't know how to do the friend thing on myfitnesspal but if you do, add yourself to ladylilmax and you can look at my food diaries.

If not, hmm... oh... one more thing I did at 4 months that helped me out a lot was to drink as much water as I could between meals.  I mean I filled up on water. I used sugar free lemonade a lot too.

I am a fanatic about getting in the 65-80 grams of protein a day and after that I will add  carbs usually fruits or veggies but sometimes crackers just cuz I love them and cannot typically eat more than 5 at a time so I am not too worried.  I can eat about 10 mini pretzels and sometimes I have a mini bag of popcorn 100 cal stuff in the evenings.

Now as for a typical day:

 breakfast:

2 cups coffee brewed and yes I do caffeinated.  I add 1/2 c carbmaster non fat milk for some protein.

I have 2 eggs or  1egg and ricotta(cottage2% or mexican shredded),1/4 cup on the cheese.

Lunch:

6 slices deli meat wrapped around a string cheese stick and if still hungry.... I add a tomato or half avocado.  Sometimes I have 3 oz fish with lettuce to make a salad.  Sometime I eat cottage cheese.  Sometimes I have 1/2 cup beans.

:Dinner:

2-3 oz whatever I fix for hubby usually so like tonight it will be meat loaf made with 93% lean gr. beef.  Sometimes I poach fish or fry it with pam.  I don't handle pork too well yet except for bacon.  I can eat KFC grilled chicken but my own chicken is too dry so I don't like it as much.  I will have 1/4 c veggies.

snacks: 2 a day

fruit:  mangoes and melons are really hitting the spot and I can eat 1/2 cup now.  Once in a while like maybe once a week, I will have a small snack size candy bar or 2-3 cookies.  I try to keep it about 100 calories but I am not always successful.

maybe the pretzels at bedtime or the popcorn or the crackers(I really want to break this cracker habit I have gotten into so I will stop using them as they are empty calories)Well so are the popcorn and pretzels, lol but I don't crave them like I do the crackers so this a sign to me to substitute something else for the crackers.  They are clearly becoming or have become a trigger food for me.

I add protein shakes in when I am not getting enough from my meats/dairies.  I make protein ice cream sometimes for a meal when I am down on protein and need more.

Again, my body craves the protein, the water and the exercise because for over 8 months now if you count the 2 weeks before surgery, that is how I have been feeding it and it has learned to run effectively on this.  Some days I get 1200 calories in and other days I get in 1400-1500.  I watch the carbs and the protein much more so than the calories.

Try the loading up on water when you are hungry.  Gosh, I just remember that 4 month period and thought... OH NO... LOL.  But as someone on here said:  Being hungry is not an emergency.....:)

Stick to your basics and it will happen.  4 months is a short time since your surgery ... when else have we lost like this?  For me, NEVER.  Like I said.. at month 5 something just clicked in my brain and I got it.  Basics work!

Good luck

Thank you so much I think I've veered off the protein a bit going back to it today.  Protein and water are my friend :)!

as soon as I figure out the fitness pal I will definitely add you as a friend thank you so much again you are an inspiration.

Defiantly getting me in a more positive and more motivated mood.

Keep up the great work

Thanks Mercedes!

hang in there and keep it simple.  Track your food.... I started tracking mine at about 4 months and that was a huge help!  Keep the proteins up for sure and the water or crystal light or popsicles or however you can get the liquids in.  I live in the desert so we really need more than 64 oz especially with the triple digits so I eat a lot of SF popsicles, LOL.

You can do this!!!  Let me know how it is going for you.  I want to hear all about your successes!

Congrats and Enjoy.  I won't **** up your bliss, when the spell is broken you might have to tighten up your eating to maintain.  But now you are in the fun easy part so enjoy it.

Thanks Lady!

I recognize it is a MIND set and I have no intention of going back to bad eating habits or of eating what I ate before.  I guess I sounded a bit like a ninny since I am still in the honeymoon phase and it is still pretty easy.  However, I believe we all find our level of maintaining and for me that will include a treat or two only once in a while.  I don't want to feel deprived or like I am dieting becuz all that ever caused me was grief and weight gain.  I have learned what works for me as long as I have the basics covered: protein, water, exercise.  If I do indulge in a cookie or candy bar, it is interesting how I get up and go for a power walk for 30 minutes or so to balance it out.  I am learning as we all must what will work for me. I am flexible enough that if I start gaining to stand back, reevaluate and change what I must.  This is a lifetime process with a precious tool and I intend to make the most of it.

You have been quite a success story and I enjoy you and your posts.  Thanks for letting me enjoy my little moment of bliss :)!
