Just Got Back from Vacation
Okay, I'll admit it--I'm kind of pleased with myself. I was in London for a week and lost four pounds. And I didn't deprive myself either!
Breakfast came with the hotel room rate, so every morning my girlfriend and I went down and treated ourselves. I usually led with protein (meat, eggs, yogurt and a skinny latte--100 calories/10g of protein), but often had a bit of carb to go along with it (a triangle of whole grain toast with a smidge of butter or cream cheese).
I'll confess, I didn't eat lunch every day (I just wasn't hungry). But when I did, it was more a snack (cheese or hummus) than a meal. Dinner was another meal where protein was front and center, usually with veggies alongside. And every night, I had a drink (I had none of the issues you hear about).
Exercise-wise, we walked our legs off! I was wearing my Fitbit the entire time. There wasn't a day where we didn't go 12,000 steps and one day, we were over 18,000. The beauty of it was I didn't feel as if I was drained. I had tons of energy. My girlfriend, who is four years younger than me and about three sizes smaller kept saying, "What's wrong with me? Why do I keep saying I need to sit down when all you want to do is keep going?"
I guess all those hours on the treadmill are already paying dividends.
I had an NSV too--I'm a size 14 now (I did some shopping and bought British size 16's, which are typically equivalent to a U.S. size 14). I started this journey barely squeezing into my size 20's. I'm 14 weeks out. Things are going really well.
