4 weeks was when I was able to start on solid food, too. My surgeon has the fastest progression plan out of the other surgeons in the practice I went with. It depends on the surgeon, but I was fine at 4 weeks.

At day 10 post-op I was able to add soft foods.  My surgeon told me on Friday to keep a food journal for 1 mth check-up and to get my 60 grams of protein in everyday along with the recommended vitamins and minerals.  Other than that, I don't have any dietary restrictions.  I am using the good advice found on this forum to make my own plan to introduce foods in my diet.  I started off with baked fish and can tolerate chopped chicken breast, yogurt and green beans.  I willl slowly add new foods on a week to week basis so I know what works.  Haven't had eggs yet because they were iffy with my tolerance pre-op and I'd hate to dump them, yuck!

My surgeon is very strict about the diet.  I did 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks puree, and 2 weeks soft foods.  I get to start solid foods this week.  Truthfully, I'm nervous and I don't really know what I can eat now I couldn't eat on soft food.  I feel like i've been eating a lot.  I'll find out when I read my handbook for the next stage...I just haven't gotten there yet.
