50,000 iu Vitamin D - is this a good brand?
Came across this one on Amazon: Bio-Tech D3-50 50,000 lu 100 Caps. If there is a better/more recommended brand please let me know. My bariatric guideline package says once I start on this it will be one per week. I will be able to ask my surgeon at my appointment on the 24th as he plans to start me then, but wanted to order it now...Thanks!
That should be fine. You might want to compare price, though, with the 50,000 unit D3 available at www.vitalady.com. When I was looking for one, hers was cheaper than what I found elsewhere. (I also take her Tender Iron supplement.) Michelle (Vitalady) had RNY and is very knowledgeable about our new anatomy. She also offers lots of protein powder samples that are not offered individually from the manufacturer. Samples are a great way to find out what protein powders you do and don't like.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
That brand is fine.
Just so you know, most RNY folks would need more than 50,000 IU D3 a week. Most need at least 10,000 IU a day in order to maintain a good vitamin D level, and many need more than that, sometimes a lot more. I have to take 50,000 IU three times a week to keep my level around 100 (it needs to be at least 80).
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I'm not sure if you can get the Vit D with free shipping with amazon prime. That's really the only time I buy anything on amazon unless it's an odd need here and there.
