Well, now your world is going to be your oyster!  Again, that took alot of time, researching and sacrifice to get to where you are today.  I wish you only the best on your future, Dr. Lora!!!!!  Jane

Congratulations, Lora!! What an amazing accomplishment!! I just finished my first year of my PhD so I can only imagine the amount of work and energy you have put in! I can't wait until I am in the same place.

Also, you taught Latin? I started my undergrad as a Latin and Classics major (although I switched to Sociology by my third year).

Gratulatio, Dr. Lora!!

Yep... I taught Latin to Freshman undergrads for a year.  Sociology is probably more useful, but I LOVE Classics!

I actually have a B.A. In Classics and Math (dual major because I started out in a Math and Computer Science program and had enough Math credits for the dual degree), an M.A. In Classics, a MHum in Latin and Ancient History, and finished all but one class and a thesis for an M.A. in Ancient History alone!  (Yes, I have a whole collection of degrees (and the student loans to prove it)!  if I was independently wealthy, I would be a professional full-time student.) My Latin is still pretty good -- I periodically still read ****ro (I did both theses on various aspects of ****ro's Latin works)... OMG, how incredibly "geeky" does it sound to say that I read Latin in my spare time?!? LOL -- but my Ancient Greek ability is all but gone at this point! My Greek was never great and was what kept me from pursuing the PhD in Classics when I was at Vandy.

I was just "killing time", taking additional classes for the unfinished degree and then dropped out of that program to switch schools and get my M.S. in Counseling (and then started my PhD work)).  This, however, is my LAST degree!!!!
