Cheated
When I'm upset with myself for making a mistake and the first person tells me that I need "couch time with a good therapist" and another person says "do some research online" it's a bit in-your-face. I know what I've gotten myself into and I've done my research," but I also know I'm human and will make mistakes along the way. I think people answer without stopping and thinking about how it might come across to people. There are people who will and do "care enough to reply," as they already have.

I understand! I too have cheated and got judged on this site. If we were perfect we wouldn't have needed the surgery. Don't be too hard on yourself. This site is wonderful to read and get information but not very supportive.
Tomorrow is a new day. Some days are harder than others. I don't feel anyone needs counseling because they ate a 1/2 slice of pizza. Good grief! That's ridiculous! Get back to basics. Eat protein first. I try to drink a protein shake before I go somewhere where there may be temptations. Get your fluids in. Also know there are lots of people in the same boat!
Good Luck!

Two things. First, I don't think anyone meant to attack you. They wanted to make sure you understand the seriousness of making a bad choice so early into your recovery. Having solid food so soon after surgery is a risk because it could injure your very sensitive pouch, cause a blockage, even a rupture. That being said, all surgeons have different programs set up for their patients. Mine is very strict. I go 6 weeks post surgery before I'm back on solid food. I'm at week 4. Others have their patients on solid food within 2-3 weeks. Just don't think that the intent was to attack you, it was very likely just a warning because no one wants to see you face a setback in your recovery or in your weight loss journey.
Second, it was a misstep. We all have them at one point or another. Just get right back on track and maybe think about why you made the choice so you can prepare yourself for that type of situation in the future. Its not the end of the world. Its going to be ok.
Hope you find this helpful.
There is no medical evidence supporting the claim that solid food soon after surgery will cause ANY kind of physical harm, let alone a rupture. As you yourself said, some surgeons put their patients on soft food just days after surgery and solid food just a couple of weeks out. My surgeon actually found that patients do BETTER with eating postoperatively -- that they have MUCH less trouble with nausea, vomiting, or "finicky" pouches -- WITHOUT a period of extended liquids and purées after surgery.
It really bothers me when people (especially surgeons!) try to scare someone into compliance, especially with things that are blatantly untrue. (If your surgeon told you that solid food could cause you to have any of the complications you mentioned, I would ask him to provide references form medical literature that support that claim.) People have enough of a tendency to pamic at the least little odd thing after surgery without worrying needlessly about eating something that can cause a bowel obstruction or rulture. Yes, it was a mistake, and it is unfortunate that it was so soon after surgery, but it is not going to cause a setback in her physical recovery.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Lora, my surgeon has done over 2000 surgeries, has created a very in depth, comprehensive program surrounding the surgery and has done a ton of research and written and/or participated in numerous studies about various aspects of the surgery. His complication rate is very low for patients who stuck to the plan he has created. So, based on his vast experience, I choose to follow his rules (even if they are strict) because in the long run, he is the trained professional who has a track record of great results for patients that follow the plan.
To each their own. I'm sure most of us would stick up for our surgeons and the programs they placed us on. Before I chose this program and this surgeon I researched 3 others and decided this was the best option for me.
