I CUT THE STRINGS OFF MY YO-YO.....
It certainly did .... 6 years and 5 months ago this coming Friday I will once again celebrate cutting of the strings off my Yo-Yo... NO MORE YO-YO DIETING FOR ME EVER AGAIN ... I have an awesome tool and awesome choices to live healthy and free from obesity related diseases ...
Darn right I cut the strings ... when I determined to cut the cycle of cyclical dieting and take my life back from morbid obesity ...I pursued weight loss surgery in my quest for better health and mobility ... I got what I bargained for and I am NEVER going back ... not if I can help it....
This is my daily entry in my digital empowerment journal... a goofy tool I created along the way with input from my sister Mela (RIP) ... "a picture a day keeps the pounds and the inches away" ... it works ... for me ... I CAN SEE IT! I CAN FEEL IT! I will keep it .... for LIFE ...
When I look at my BEFORE ..
and compare it to TODAY ...as in THIS DAY 7/1/2013 .. I am having a Thoreau experience like my awesome canvas... a gift from a friend on the journey states....
Life is BEAUTIFUL ... as beautiful as BEFORE but more-so now ... with HEALTH AND MOBILITY FREE OF five comorbidities ... I am living my life to the fullest ... one day, one choice at a time ... having implemented life style changes and conquered and destroyed old bad habits with totally doable and fulfilling new ones ...
I am living my life like it is golden ... NO REGRETS... I donned my tiny dress on Friday and went to an awesome gathering with my DH and friends from my oldies group...I can dance, run, swim, jump for hours at end without joint pain or aches ... nor shortness of breath nor extreme tiredness on exertion ... I am mobile ... I no longer have hypertension, diabetes, sleep apnea, GERD or dyslipedimia ... and I did it all...
when I cut the strings off my Yo-Yo and pursued WLS (weight loss surgery) and implemented awesome life-style changes ... the old bad eating habits are part of the past ... and like the devil's saying "I put the devil out and made sure he did NOT leave his bags"
YUP ... I cut the strings off my Yo-Yo ... for LIFE!!!!
Me this morning lovin' my ferrets ... on my way to work...
Thanks for allowing me to share snippets of my journey....
Amen!! Thank you for all your inspiration. My journey is off to a great start and I am ever so grateful for this tool.

I love your clothes!!! For someone like me who loves clothes, I don't ever understand how I let myself gain as much weight as I have multiple times.....it's crazy and chicka you motivate me with your clothes more than you can imagine!
BTW, if I ever get your size (I'll probably be 100 years old) can I borrow that sparkly, blue green short dress? That thing is too cute on you!! :)
I so understand the yo-yo mentality....live it, breathe and I hope I can be successful of nipping those things in two!!

Thank you Sherry ... you DEFINITELY will be successful too ..... I can feel you ... I LOVE LOVE LOVE clothes too ... I did rock my plus sizes too I would whip out my sewing machine and stitch up a frock in a minute ... but now I just love sliding into my clothes... I remember buying the smallest possible size the week before my surgery with my ankle barely fitting into the narrow pant leg ...and saying to myself I WILL WEAR THIS SOMEDAY ...and I did... before the first year post op was over I was wearing it and can still do so today ...
I was a volume eater and being Panamanian rice and beans and fried plantains were staple... for breakfast we had concolón or arroz pegado or pegadito which is the burnt rice that sticks to the bottom of the pot ... with fried eggs over it it was my fave breakfast back home .... now I can't even handle rice that much so I would occasionally have a small brown rice with black beans or my fav beans and I have learned how to cook my favorite paella using quinoa instead of rice... there are awesome substitutes for just about anything out there IMO....
I find you so inspiring, I feel lucky to consider you a friend! You bring a little sunshine into my day, and I always look forward to your next words of wisdom! Not to forget to mention, you have the most amazing clothing!!! Or mybe you just make everything look amazing! I bet you could make a trash bag look couture!

Ohhhhhhh MissCalla ...You just gave me an idea since I am goofy like that LOL... when I get home (I have to do a quick weave on a VIP at my shop) I am going to find myself a trash bag that I am going to cut a hole in for the neck ... two for the arms and make find a wide belt and call it my trashy moment LOL LOL ... if I don't have the time today I will definitely do it tomorrow... hey... I may be on to something ... it is raining and I lost my umbrella ... so just maybe hmmmmmmmmmm my new raincoat? LOL....
