The Problems of Having Surgery Overseas

Doing a phone or Skype call with a bariatric nutritionist in the U.S. may be the way to go.  I'm going to investigate NUTs here first and see what I find.  I suspect many of them will not have experience with bariatric patients.  That's my main worry.

There's a big push here for health and fitness.  Qatar, like much of the Gulf, has an extremely high rate of diabetes (over 20% of the adult population--ranked 4th highest in the world).  So the country has been investing in this area (that's one of the reasons why they opened the bariatric center for excellence).  There should be resources.  I just need to track them down.
