So Im on my 2nd day of a 4 day liquid preop diet. Im hungry which is to be expected I suppose but I'm peeing like a pregnant woman and haven't had a bowel movement all day. Is it ok to put some benefiber in my liquids for the preop portion?

My doctor prefers Miralax for whatever reason, but if you are pre-op I would call the surgeon and ask. The last thing you want to do is find out you took something that now makes you have a surgery delay.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

Absolutely. I've waited too long for this and I don't want to mess it up! Thanks. I guess I'll call Monday if its still an issue

There is absolutely no problem with using fiber. You're probably not going to go, otherwise. I've been having fiber in my tea three times a day for weeks. I have to drink a bottle of magnesium citrate on Monday. I got the lemon flavor. I hope it's not too bad. I might have to use a straw.

From experience, the lemon isn't horrible but it's pretty strong. The cherry is alot easier to drink. It tastes like playdough but is less strong so you can chug it without feeling like you are going to hurl. Neither are particularly tasty. Thanks for the fiber tip. I think Im going to try putting some in my shake.

It might be easier if you just put it in your water/flavored water if you got the clear kind like a benefiber equivalent. Not sure how it will do in a shake.

Oh it is a flavorless benefited equivalent. I just call it benefiber :P
