What brand of shake do you prefer? I only have about 1 week's supply left of the Bariatrics Advantage shakes from my doctor.

My favorite is Syntrax Nectar cappuccino.  I also like Synxtra Nectar vanilla bean torte, Celebrate vanilla cake batter ENS, Oh Yeah ready to drink cookies n cream and banana, BSN Lean Protein banana cream, and Big Train Fit Frappe.  Oh, and Chike vanilla, banana, and iced coffee.

I recommend ordering a bunch of samples to see what you like.

Go to Nashua Nutrition and order samples.  I have found that vanilla is the only flavor I can handle of plain protein powders and then I doctor it to meet my needs...mix it in coffee, add fruit or syrups, cook with it, etc.      Some brands are better than others, but that is such a personal thing.   I like the Chike Vanilla, BSN Lean Dessert is good too, and Syntrax Vanilla bean is good but some of the generics and Designer Whey are all fine to me as well.

I do really LOVE Big Train Fit Frappe in Vanilla Latte or Mocha.    If I could only have one protein mix, that's what I'd choose.

Syntrax Matrix shakes are pretty good. I like the vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. I buy the big bags and they last a couple of months.

I have tried so many but I like the Pure Protein chocolate or vanilla (available at Walmart) and Pure Protein comes in RTD also and Muscle Milk.  Muscle Milk is lactose free and I seem to tolerate it best and also the flavors are very true and no after taste.  Both of these mix up so well!

The Syntrax mixes are really good too.  I just happen to enjoy the milk shake kind of mixes so I can freeze it like ice cream!

I did not tolerate the syntha-6 powders well at all.  The same with the Body Fortress.  But that is just me.

As the other poster said....go get some samples and try them.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Oh yeah! ready-to-drink protein shakes taste great. I love the cookies & creme and the strawberry & creme. The other flavors like vanilla and chocolate are good too. You can buy them at The Vitamin Shoppe.

I'm fond of Unjury's Chocolate Splendor.  I don't really like Bariatric Advantage's shakes, though the upside is they're lactose-free.

So what were you on post-op? My doctor really wants me to use Bariatric Advantage but the aftertaste is horrible! I'm having a hard time getting in my 3 proteins because of it!

I have Unjury (which was recommended to me by my nutritionist and out of the few I sampled it was pretty good). That said, don't buy a lot of any one particular flavor, get a bunch of different flavors and unflavored (in case you just want to add it into your food instead, or crystal lite, milk, etc. without tasting anything else).

Are they all really creamy shakes? I think that's the problem I'm having. I wish they were sweet and tart like lemonade, and just as watery. Any other suggestions?
