Hello everyone! I was trying to figure out where to introduce myself and I guess this will be it..... I am 25 years old, and am just starting (for the second time) my WLS journey. I had started the process a few years ago, and my insurance at the time with my job required a 6 month medically supervised diet... long story short, 5 months into my supervised diet, my employer changed insurance providers, and the new provider didnt cover WLS!!!!! bummmerrrr right?! yeah soo... cut to 3 years later.. I moved to SC, got a VERY good job, and I've just found out that my insurance at this employer covers WLS! And from what it looks like, doesnt require the diet either !!!! (Anthem BCBS) So, my insurance doesn't start until 8/1/13 but I have just done a Webinar and am hoping I can get the ball rolling pretty quick once everything kicks in. So I would just like to start by saying HELLO! And hopefully I get to know everyone here, as I've been a lurker for quite some time but just haven't signed up because I figured my hopes of having surgery would never come true, but i'm praying this all works out and I can start my journey soon!
Welcome! I see your surgeon is in COLA, are you in that area or closer to Charlotte?

HW333--SW 289--GW of 160 5' 11" woman. I only know the way I know & when you ask for input/advice, you'll get the way I've been successful through my surgeon & nutritionist. Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
Welcome! Once your coverage begins, call the insurance company and get them to tell you where you can read the requirements for WLS. They will give you a link-print it and live by it-follow it to the letter. Please do not take someone's word for it.......read it yourself.

Thank you! We got our Benefits Book the first day at work, and that was the first thing I looked at! lol.. Dont get me wrong I got the job for other reasons, but as soon as I saw that WLS was covered I started jumping for joy! lol.. plus like I've read, Anthem is one of the easiest to get approved through! But as soon as I get my insurance cards i'm going to be calling again, just to double check!

CW 190!!! GW Anything under 200 was the icing on the cake...going for 170...lil more icing never hurt anybody!
