Good news times two!
First, my draft dissertation has been turned in to my Chair/Advisor! It seems like i have been working on it forever! Hopefully, she wont have any significant issues with it and i will be able to just tighten up the writing and clean it up a bit, and do some minor revisions. i really want to have my PhD before my 51st birthday at the end of August.
Second, the salesman from the "good" Honda dealership called me and told me that they located a red, V6 Accod coupe with manual transmission that another dealership is willing to part with! They just have to finalize what color and trim level CR-V the other dealership wants in trade (apparently, they didn't want an Accord -- coupe OR sedan -- in trade, they wanted a CR-V and, fortunately, my dealership has quite a few). I got the color i really, really wanted and didnt have o break down and spend any money at the "evil" dealership. I should have it before Friday, just in time for a short road trip on Saturday to visit Kelly! Happy (9-month-belated) 50th birthday to me! Also, one of the managers at work who has always admired my Prelude is going to buy it from me, so not only will I get a fair price for it, but I know that it will be well cared for (and I might get to see it in the parking lot occasionally), LOL. I will still miss it, though. I have never felt an emotional attachment to a car before, so this is weird. Of course, this is the only car that I have ever kept for more than 5 years (and I have now had it for 15 years (but only 110K miles)). I am really looking forward to getting a bright, shiny, "arrest me" red V6 though! I do not, however, have any qualms about trading in the Civic (although I might miss the navigation system occasionally). My iPhone can provide directions, though.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Congratulations on the dissertation! You worked really hard on that.
And I'm glad to hear they found a car for you. I want a ride in it Saturday.

We will leave Isaac at home so your new car does not become covered in dog hair when you've had it for just 24 hours.

True, but you don't need any extra hair. Isaac has short hair. I don't know how he manages to shed so much.
