Maintaining it isn't that hard..

^^^  What Laura said.  Many people find that at three years out or so it becomes more difficult.  You may not be one of those, of course, but I think a post like yours can set up some unrealistic expectations for others who may have a very different metabolism than yours or who may find it more challenging to make good food choices and limit portions sufficiently to avoid regain.

I am maintaining my weight loss (will be 6 years out in August), but for me it ISN'T easy.  I have to be very conscious of my food choices since I am limited in terms of physical activity, and there are still days that I really want a bacon cheeseburger and a chocolate malt.

I had four easy years, then the **** hit he fan and what I could always eat was making me gain.  What a wakeup call.  Just be careful and know the easy maintenance doesn't last forever.  But just because it gets harder doesn't mean it's not doable.  I am at goal at 8+ yrs out.

Good luck.

Yes, everyone is very different. I had surgery 19 months ago and have struggled with what I put in my mouth since Christmas. I've gained 10 lbs which makes me pretty upset, but I knew going in to this that food choices and exercise is paramount to maintain the weight loss. I went 17lbs below goal so I'm at the perfect weight now, but it just goes to show that this procedure is not a magic bullet, hard work to prevent regain will be a reality for most of us.

For me, losing the weight was easy.  I ended up 18 lbs below goal without trying to lose that much.

Maintaining it has been hard for me.  I think it is for most people.  I'm glad if it's easy for you - I hope it continues to be easy - but I also hope you don't get too disappointed or discouraged if it does get harder.
