Best laid plans (not really on topic/but kind of a NSV)
Today the wife and I went to Six Flags over Texas. I was so surprised that I had so very much energy to move around the park. I could have stayed much longer than my dear wife but she was in obvious pain at all the activity. I guess my riding the bike around the lake has some good benefits. Mel has only joined me at that once. Need to get her to do it more often.
We had bought season passes for ourselves and for our cousin's kids. We had hopes that we would really get to know them over the summer by taking them out to the park on weekends. But alas, it was not meant to be. Her mom is moving today and this was the last time till further notice we will even get to see the kids as they are moving out of state. We think there is a Six Flags park in Missouri somewhere so maybe they can still get some use out of the passes. The other good news is that even though I am 6'4" I am no longer too wide to fit on any ride I tried. That was a very good thing IMHO. I have my hair cut short, so I was wearing a cap to keep from burning my head. They kept making me take it off for the rides. Eventually I forgot it. By the time I realized it I was clear across the park. Thus I didn't go back for it as didn't want to make the wife wait. Maybe on a future visit we can see if lost and found will give it back to me but I doubt it. The cap as a one of a kind hat though.
Still sad that wont get to spend time with the cousins kids. We have no children of our own. I do wish...
Me being 50 and wife 41 I think the chances of kids of our own are now just about nill.
Will just have to be satisfied being an Uncle or cousin to my family's kids.
Aww.. sad about the kids moving, being a long distance granny I miss our grands a ton.
Sorry about your hat, too. Gosh, that is rough.
But good for you that you fit into all the rides and that you had so much energy! I love places like that so good for you that you got to go and have a good time.
You really have done a great job. Congrats
WOW--you sound like a SUPER uncle !! Hope you get your hat back and how wonderful you had such a good time riding the rides !!! I'm getting my nerve up for our local fair in a couple of months--at my age I'll probably have to get an approval letter from my doctor before they let me on-lol. Sure hope you can get your wife to join you for more bike rides--it will be good for both of you.
