I like Danskos too.  For in the house, you should try the Orthaheel slippers on QVC.  A little expensive, $60, but wow do they feel amazing!!

I had surgery on mine and it felt so much better. For me a lot my foot pain went away with the weight loss. I had inserts that I used in my shoes which helped as well. There are some exercises you can do that help with the pain too.

Hi Shawna,

Mine were so bad I could hardly walk when getting out of bed or after sitting a few minutes. Inserts helped a great deal but by no means cured the pain. Going bare foot was absolutely a no-no. Since my weight loss I have absolutely no lingering pain whatsoever. I sincerely hope this is the case for you.

Same here.  I bought orthotics from Dr Good Feet which were terribly expensive but I was in so much pain. I don't think they are necessarily the only brand but they helped.  I also bought good shoes.  Losing the weight did help and I no longer have to sit on the edge of the bed until my feet adjust to the floor.  I still have to wear house slippers or shoes.

I want to add that my son had severe problems and the doctor did deep massage about 3 or 4 times.  It cured his pain.

It is a medical procedure and if you have insurance it might cover it.

Lots of good suggestions here already. Plantar fasciitis is not the same thing as bone spurs but can cause bone spurs due to the tension where the tendon attaches to the bone. So...good shoes are a must. If you have a foot source, SAS or another store like that, go tell them your challenges and they should be able to help. It'll probably cost you a couple hundred dollars, but I suspect you've already spent that on different inserts.

Next, ice your feet daily. Easiest way is to take a tub and fill it with a few inches of water and dump in a bunch of ice. Soak your feet for 20 minutes, if you can stand it. Do it twice daily if you can. Stretch several times a day before you go from sitting or lying down to standing. Especially in the middle of the night and in the morning nd wear a night brace if you can stand it. I couldn't sleep with the night brace and my podiatrist says he only gets 10-20% compliance so he has stopped recommending it. They do work if you use it. To stretch, Flex your toes towards your head and hold it, then write the alphabet with your toes.

I had surgery on one side, then got this advice for the other side. It's been years and I no longer have issues with the pain so its worth trying a non-surgical solution. Good luck
