High folic acid, "normal" B12....help?

Hey Vitamin gurus, I need some help. Just got my 5 year labs drawn, everything looks good except my ferritin (no surprise), but this time my folic acid was quite elevated (>24.8, reference for my lab is >5.8) and my B12 was 784. Do I need to worry?

Any input would be appreciated :)

thanks

Penney

I wouldn't be worried but would not take any extra folate beyond what's in a regular multi.  So I would not take a B complex and would make sure you're not using a multi that has a large amount of folate (B9) like some do.

As far as B12, anything over 550 is OK but ideally it would be around 1000, so I would increase your B12 supplement a bit.

For a multivitamin, I am taking Celebrate Multivitamin capsules, the dose is 3 daily and the folate is 800mcg. I need the multi....

And that's an OK dose of B9.  That's not a massive dose of it.
