I bought a carton of Light Chocolate Silk Soymilk, is it legal for me to have?.  I am 5 weeks post-op.  It's lactose & Gluten Free which is what I need but it says it has  90 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and 14 grams of sugar 3 grams of protein and 16 grams of carbs..

It tastes really good, but I'm not sure if this the one I can have...Is the sugars from the Chocolate in it?

Thanks for your help

I found some soy milk at Wal-Mart called Soy Slender and it is also Lactose/Gluten free and only 1 carb per 8 oz serving. It comes in Vanilla and Chocolate. I don't remember the calories etc on it other than carbs but I really liked it. I had the chocolate and will be trying the vanilla next. i haven't had my surgery yet though (June 17th) so I hope i still like it after my surgery :)

I believe that if it has more than 5 to 7 sugars it is a no-no.  I have found silk pure almond unsweetened almondmilk.  It has 30 calories, 0 sugars and less than 1 carb.  It is high in calcium.  I really like it just the way it is.  If you want to add chocolate you could use Hershey's sugar free syrup.  My doctor said to only use the sugar free and not the light.
