Just a quick question....I had my RNY on May 13th, one of the lucky ones with no complications or bad side effects (no dumping, able to eat my soft foods, all my h2o and protein) how long does the fatigue take to go away?? I walk a little over a mile each day at this point today!!! was my first day back at work and I am exhausted!!! (Im an accountant so nothing too fun there) Holy cow so not used to this lol!!!

I've been feeling the same way. I had surgery the 20th of May and read on the boards about the exhaustion and didn't think it would be this bad.

RNY scheduled May 20, 2013

I'm 2 weeks today and amazed that you're walking a mile a day! Showering and dressing = total exhaustion for me. Water/protein/food is not easy for me, either. Perhaps you're the role model for perfect RNY recovery!?!!

I'm about six weeks out and it doe's get better one day at a time. the last 2 days. I'VE ACTUALLY STAYED OUT ALMOST ALL DAY. Before I said k time to rest. I also had no problems till I started soft. If something ticks my pouch off. i know to stay away.

I do consider myself very lucky so far having no issues. And trust me getting out and walking at night is a struggle but I have 2 little ones at home that need Momma so I have to adhere to the program for them and me. So it is sheer will lol. I also refuse to veer of his eating plan because I hate throwing up so I stick to it word for ward..been working for me so far. Ok thanks everyone! Glad to know it wont be much longer and glad to know

RNY on 05/20/13

Good to read your post!  I had my RNY on May 20th, and no real issues either.  But I really am so tired in the afternoons.  I don't always nap but I do tend to lie down for 10-20 minutes.

Had planned to return to work on the 5th; but that's going to be too soon.  I see my surgeon on the 4th and will ask to extend a few more days.

You're doing great!!
