My dad has dealt with kidney stones for years. His doctor suggested drinking lemonade. He has a lot less since he started drinking lemonade regularly. Just thought I'd mention that!

Yes, I have heard that, and I do like lemonade.  Making homemade lemonade to use artificial sweetener in it just isn't going to happen very often, though (and lemonade flavored powders don't count as far as the kidney stones go).

i make fresh squeezed lemonade at home all the time..its either ice cold water or lemonade for me is that i drink..i bring home a bag of lemons and juice them up, then measure out 1 cup of juice and freeze that in small baggies, then i pull out a baggie..i have a 2 quart jug..i put the lemon juice in, then i add 3/4 cup to 1 cup of sweetner....consisting of all of the following: raw sugar (turbinado sugar cane), truvia, splendia....i have a 1 cup measuring cup, i put the raw sugar in the very bottom, then the truivia, then the splendia...the raw barely covers the bottom of the cup, then the truvia, is the bulk, then the splendia just barely covers the top of that....sorry, i dont have exact measurements....but for some reason this does not give me the aftertaste..but then i like my lemonade with a bit of a kick to it...and i pretty much use just the 3/4 cup as not the whole 1 cup is full of stuff....

i just now found a bottle of raw sugar liquid....i have not gotten to try it yet....now with the raw sugar, my lemonade is not yellow, it has a brownish tinge to it, since the raw sugar is brown...the liquid is also brown...it says it will dissolve in cold drinks...

i then sometimes buy the calyspo lemonade from wal mart...they have different flavors, southern peach, black cherry, grape are my favorites....i then pour a glass of lemonade of mine and then add some of the flavored lemonade to mine...it gives it nice change of flavors.... calyspo it is made with real lemons and real sugar, it has the pulp in the lemonade.i found the calyspo lemonade while up in wyoming a few years ago...i called the company to find out if they sold it here in florida...they did not , but it was in georgia...so my daughter found it at her wal mart while going to school, so when she would come home she could bring me cases of it, i had a stash in my closet...within the last few months they have started selling it here in florida so i am  a happy camper now....the calyspo is a 20 ox bottle and it takes me days to finish a bottle of it, mixing with my lemonade...i get on a lemonade kick and then drink it like crazy then dont drink it for a bit....i notice when i do drink it..i urinate alot during that time....

i have made my lemonade with just truiva, and just splenda, and they both leave an aftertaste to me..but for some reason when i mix them togther, they must counter each others aftertaste...or it could be the raw sugar....but if i maybe put 1/4 cup of raw sugar in the measuring cup.....and i dont even think it is a full 1/4 cup.... in the 2 quart container, and it takes me a week or more longer to drink it....thats not too bad...sometimes it takes me longer than a week to drink the whole jug of lemonade..sometimes i have to throw it out as it just does not get drank and it can fermint a bit if it sits for a while... i just keep the jug of lemonade and my bottle of the calyspo in fridge and then mix those when i want it...when the calyspo is down, i then add my lemonade to that bottle and drink out of that bottle...

good luck on your quest....i just cant handle the asparteme in sugar free items, it gives me a major migrine headache...

have a blessed day

Thanks for the tip.  I bought a bag of lemons, and I already use both Truvia and Splenda, so I will try mixing them together as you suggested.

Minute maid has a great low calorie lemonade, it comes in pink and regular and it only has 15 cals per serving.  At my local store it's like $2-2.50 per bottle (I think it's a 64oz bottle)  Its really delicious though, my boyfriend drinks it sometimes and doesn't realize it's low calorie, haha.

If I am making up a half gallon or a gallon of SF drink I get the Splenda that you use for baking. It's lighter and fluffier then what comes in the packet and you measure it out just like you do sugar. The bottles of drops are a little on the pricey side but it really depends on how much you use in each bottle of water you make. I have found since my surgery that I don't like my flavored water to be as strong as what I did before my surgery so a bottle of flavoring is lasting me about twice as long now as it did before. Also try the store brands instead of the brand names and you can save around a $1 on each bottle.

I love Walmart's Great Value Sugar Free Grape Drink (they have many other flavors as well)

Our Dollar Tree Stores here carry SF Hawaiian Punch(8 individual packets) and some others for $1 per box. I also get my antigas tablets there.  36 mint flavored chewable tabs for ....tada $1.  They are bit lower in simethicone than gas x so if I am really having a problem I take two!  I love these stores, LOL.

Yes, I have several boxes of the SF Hawaiian Punch singles as well as some similar items like that.  I had a taste of some Peach Mango Kool Aid at my brother's house (made with sugar, of course), though, and really wanted to make some without the sugar.

Did you try making the kool-aid with splenda?  I'm pretty sure I have in the past and I think it came out okay.  I also have made it with xylitol in the past which was really great (though I'm not sure how I would handle it now, post surgery...) Anyhoo, I hope you figured it out.  If you haven't made it yet, I'd just start with 1/2 cup and add more in like 2 table spoon increments until you get it sweetened the way you like. :)
