Hi - My surgery was May 1.  Came home to sleep in bed and have become the queen of pillows !   1st week (prior to drainage tube being taken out).. I propped pillows up so I was almost in a seated position (including 1 under my legs to keep me in place and 2 on either side to "support" my stomach).    A few days after the tube was removed I "almost" slept on my side (still propped up and supporting pillows around me).    Im currently going through pain on my left side and back-- so I am again adjusting pillows - lol.   Trying to keep in mind, this too shall pass.    And God Bless my pain meds (I only take them at night but  they relieve my pain just enough to let me sleep).

I was discharged 23 hours after my surgery and slept in our day bed downstairs for a few nights. I found it most comfortable to sleep slightly elevated on a few pillows and turned on my side. It felt better on my right side than my left.
