Newly post-op blood loss
On my phone - difficult to search.
Has anyone else had post-op blood loss enough for transfusions, and lost that blood too?
I had surgery yesterday AM with a HGB of 14. It dropped to 7 after surgery, with me vomiting a lot of blood, and I had low blood-pressure, too. I received 2 units of blood which popped it back up to 9; now it's 7.4 and my surgeon is on a wait and see schedule since my blood pressure is decent. I'm not vomiting blood anymore, but my first and only BM so far had dark tarry appearance along with some fresher looking blood.
Similar experiences???

No on similar experiences but have read that some on here have had a rough time with this!
The BM sounds normal for post bypass though. Glad you are in hospital and they are taking such good care of you.
Love your name! I am older and so nostalgic sometimes for the "good ol' days" LOL
Saying some prayers that you are well very soon and homebound with a healthy robust Hgb soon! Let us know how you are doing!
I had the same thing. After surgery my blood pressure started to drop and my one incision started to bleed. My hemoglobin dropped to 20 when normal is 120. I had a blood transfusion and my bleeding stop. I was leading internally for a couple of days. Since I am younger my doctor opted with the wait and see approach. Hopefully you feel better soon.
