Hello,

Since the summer is here and fresh produce is so handily available, I thought I would share a neat site I just found.  It is a co op called Bountiful Baskets.

In our region for $15/week, we get fresh veggies and fruits.  For $25/week, it would be all organic. There are pick up sites once a week after you order.

They have wonderful add ons like home baked breads, fruits, veggies for canning, local eggs, etc. if you are interested.

Anyway, we are just going to try it come payday in about 2 weeks.

Apparently it is nation wide so go to Bountiful Baskets website and see if you have one locally if you are interested.  Sounds like a good deal.

I am a back up volunteer site coordinator for Bountiful Baskets. The website is www.bountifulbaskets.org

I love it and the produce is super fresh and lasts a long time. I have made and water bath canned salsa, sugar free jams, pickled asparagus, spaghetti sauce. I am going to get a pressure canner to do veggies.

I get them week.  I LOVE it.  Not only is it good and good for you, it gets you to sometimes try something you never thought of trying.  This week, part of the veggies was fennel, I never had them.  Looked online, found a recipe for roasting them, now I love them.

Exactly!  I thought this would broaden my veggie/produce horizons.  Glad you are liking it and I will be anxious to try it out!

I've gotten baskets for quite awhile.  It's always a little like Christmas to see what's in my basket.  Every once it awhile, I will get an Unidentified Vegetable Object in my basket that I will have to research.  It's been great to encourage my family to add variety to our meals.
