As everyone always says, every plan is different. I wasn't allowed protein my first three weeks (I don't know why...). But I was drinking 80 to 100 oz of water/clear liquids that entire time. I came through it fine (though admittedly I had minimal energy). I'm impressed you're getting in 45 grams of protein this early. I'm really struggling to get that much in, even though I'm five weeks out.
Of course it is OK to get more than 48 oz of water. In fact. the Mayo Clinic says women usually need 72 oz of liquid a day and men need as much as 104 oz a day.

Are you newly post op? I'm not sure why you're being told 48oz of water. Perhaps that's a minimum?
Dark urine in the morning is normal. Also, some vitamins affect the color of urine.
I've read where we should divide our weight in half, and that's how many oz we should be drinking. For a very heavy person, this could would excessive, but I shoot for 80+oz per day (at almost 6mo post op).
You had surgery less than a week ago, right? I think it's head hunger, not real hunger. I had 80 grams of protein from the beginning (4 slim fast low-carb shakes a day to start with).
