Help from someone who has completed the liquid diet. (maybe TMI)
This is my second day on the all liquid diet. Hunger has not been as bad as I thought it was going to be. I am getting about 90 grams of protein and about 180 ounces of fluid. However I have a question. To me it makes sense if the all that goes in is liquids then all that will come out is liquid but, my goodness this is awful! I have had a little tummy cramps but for the most part it just hits! Not like the hey you need to go to the bathroom but more like the GO NOW kinda way. Will this go away in a day or two? My bottom is getting sore already! (sorry if TMI)
I think it might be where you are detoxing from the fat and carbs in your diet. I was like that for a couple of days and then I would only go every 2 or 3 days. If you are sore get you some baby wipes with no fragrance and that has aloe in it. You might need to get you some diaper cream too if it's very bad. I know it helped me out a lot when I did my bowel prep.
Wow! Sounds like you're doing really good. It's also my third day on the liquid diet and I'm only averaging about 60-80 oz of water and mine is working the opposite. Major constipation. So this explains is for me. I need to up my water intake. I've only had 3 Premier Protein shakes today and I'm starving. I ate about 1/2 cup of sf jello and 1 cup of broth but still really hungry. Going to sleep to stop the hunger and will drink more water tomorrow. Good luck with it
I have real hard time with most protein drinks. The "sweet" ones make me want to vomit. (tried another kind about 30 minutes ago.....YUCK!!) Anyway I love the Unjury chicken soup. I drink about 5 or 6 of them a day. I but some chicken bullion in with and I love it.
When is your surgery date? Mine is May 30th. I have to do 3 weeks of liquids.
Hey again. I just tried the Vanilla Premier shake from Costco. It's horrible. Sickenly sweet. Even my kids won't drink them! Where do you find the Unjury Chicken Soup? I've never heard of it. I actually made chicken noodle soup today for my son who was home sick. I had some of the broth. It was so nice to eat something fresh and not canned. I think I'm going to try juicing and adding protein powder to it. At least it's natural. My surgery is May 22 so only 7 days to go.After being off food for a few days I look at it in a different way for sure. Good luck with the rest of your liquid diet and your surgery.
