NSV
Coming up on 5 months out on the 11th and sitting on the same weight for 3 weeks. Definitely seeing a slowdown but no complaints. Soooooo
decided to take my measurements and sure enough... I have lost inches!
Altogether I have lost 75 lbs and 79 inches overall! Not bad for an ol' hen!
Keeping to the basics and I know that it will work. I would love to lose another 10 lbs. I find it funny that I am currently parked at a weight I wore all through high school. I was not slim in high school but on a woman 50+years later, ya know, I look pretty good, LOL.
I will have to figure out how to post before and after pics as I have been so inspired by all those who do. I love you gals who take pics with your phones in dressing rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, closets, LOL... where ever you are!
Thanks to everyone on here who has helped me and I know that OH will be a big part of my life as I move closer to reaching goal and then onto maintenance. I am anxious to see what my labs are like at the 6 month check up.
Oh, a side note: I really encourage people to sign up for myfitnesspal or some such site! Boy, it shows me minute to minute what I am doing! I was so heavy on proteins that I was neglecting my healthy carbs and I had felt kinda sluggish for a week or two. After filling out the daily tracker for food and exercise for just 2 days, I made the corrections and feel so much better! Increased energy, increased mental clarity(well, for my age, LOL)
Love you all and so happy to have found this wonderful support!
You are just killing it! Congratulations.
I know what you mean about target weight changing as you get older. When I was in college, I maintained between 135 and 140. At the time, I was wearing either an 11/12 or 13/14 (the biggest junior size they made!). And I always felt like I needed to lose another 10-15 pounds (because I was a theatre major and the camera adds 10 pounds, I was actually told that by my professors).
This time around, I made my goal 125 based on that past history. My sister found out about that figure and read me the riot act. She and I are the same height. She said, "Do you think I look good?" I honestly replied, "Yeah, I think you look great." She said, "I weigh between 140 and 145. If you drop down to 125, you're going to be too thin."
That kills me. I think she looks terrific, but I don't remember ever looking that thin. It's weird.
And yes, count me in as a fan of MyFitnessPal.com. :-)
I guess no matter what we do those last 5 pounds are always the hardest to lose. It's good that you kept track of your other measurements so you can see the success still moving using things other than weight.

I could only wish 38# to goal, it's 78# but man it is going quicker than I thought. I went today with my wife to look at RVs (Travel Trailers not the really big Class A things) and the sales guy we talked to had RNY years ago. He was and still is very successful. He had a tummy tuck, thighs, and butt lift. He looked pretty good. He started out at 330 or so and I forget where he said he's down to but I'm gonna guess 160ish. He was telling me a lot about his surgery and how he eats and stuff and dumping. He had a lot of good information, but also some of what he said seemed to really only apply to him, but I applaud him for being so enthusiastic about it.
I can't wait until I get 5# away from my goal!!! Actually I can't wait until the end of June because I'm going to Cedar Point to ride the really really big Roller Coasters. They have one where I'm at now at King's Dominion called the Intimidator 305. It's 305 feet up and you drop at around 110mph and the bank turns are so awesome. The harness system is like being in a race car (Dale Earnhardt the Intimidator) and I can fit into those easily even at my highest weight. The coasters at Cedar Point however, are a totally different story. Those harness systems are SO TIGHT!!! They have 3 coasters that I have not been able to ride yet, but I'm betting I'll be good by June. Wish me luck! That will be one of my major NSV's.
