Anyone?
I ran across something online this morning about an alternative bypass called, Roca Labs gastric bypass. Anyone heard or have any input about this? here's a link:

Realistically it just doesn't work! If you look at the way their product "fills up" most of the stomach, nothing would go through to the intestines. There are always products that claim many things that really don't work the way they say they will. Bigger than that, the statistics that they list for RNY are ridiculous. 1 in 5 die?? NO WAY! 30% have complications?? If you call constipation a complication, then yes, I will go along with that.
As with any surgery there are risks involved. The information provided by reputable resources put the risk of death at less than 1%. The people being operated on are not as healthy because of the excess weight, so I would say that is a great statistic. The outcome for most is better health, longer life and a more active person.

Run -- do not walk -- in the other direction!! Did you read the mice-type print for the asterisk following the "successful regimen" at the top of the page?!? It includes A warning not to use their product without consulting a physician if you have EVER had ANY medical or health condition (not just digestive issues... ANY medical issue EVER), and a statement that their page attempts to persuade and therefore uses paid actors to promote their products (so not all of those testimonials are real!)
Also, if you look at the Terms page, it tells you hat you must drink AT LEAST THREE full glasses of water after EACH dose of the product in order to avoid dehydration or other complications, plus 6-8 glasses of water each day in addition to the three.
I also have to wonder, as Martha did, how anything else gets through the digestive system if their fiber product (which has to be pretty thick in order to accomplish what they claim) takes up 80% of the stomach!
It is curious that one of the things they consider a drawback of gastric bypass is the problem of having to always make good food choices in order to get in enough nutrition from the food... Yet they don't mention that the same thing would apply when using their product if you only have 20% of your available stomach space!
Way too many warnings, terms to agree to, "qualifications", and disclaimers, IMO, to even consider.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I have a hard time taking information seriously when there are so many spelling and grammar errors. And I have to agree, they must be considering everything a complication, from mild nausea to constipation to frequent belching if they found a complication rate of 30%
