100 Pounds Lost! w/Pics
Hey everyone! Just wanted to share some fabulous photos with you. I have lost 100 pounds since last June when I was at my heaviest of 375. I lost 25 lbs. before surgery and 75 lbs. since surgery on 12/11/12. I have also lost 44.25 inches since my surgery.
Things have been very good--no complications, just got my blood levels back and everything is normal. I am very strict about what I put in my mouth, so I have no idea if I dump. I do, however, drink through a straw, as it doesn't seem to bother my pouch and helps me keep up with my liquids. I am avoiding white carbs, such as bread, pasta, and rice until I'm a year out, even though it is allowed on my plan. I eat about 1200 calories a day, 80+ grams of protein, 64+ oz. of fluid. I chew everything to the consistency of applesauce. I have had a drink a few times since surgery (my surgeon allows you to drink 6 weeks after surgery, but I waited longer) without issue. Keeping an eye out for those transfer addictions.
My surgery scars aren't too bad. I haven't put anything on them and have just been letting them heal on their own. The excess skin on my arms and belly bothers me more than I thought it would. However, I still have much further to go so we'll see how my body changes. I try to be active everyday. I play volleyball on Monday nights. I walked/jogged a 5k on April 20th. I am looking forward to swimming and kayaking this summer. I also do some weightlifting at the gym and Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred on an inconsistent basis.
On the left, I am wearing a 4x shirt and 26/28 shorts. On the right I am wearing 2x top and capris from the MISSES SECTION. They are still a little tight but I can't wait until they fit better. Now I am about a size 22/24 on top (used to be 30/32) and about size 18/20 on the bottom (used to be 26/28).
I am very happy. This has been a great change for my life. I feel like food does not control me anymore--even though I know I spend much more time and energy planning and cooking. I am halfway to my goal of 175 pounds. However, after reading some of the success stories from the vets on here, I am hoping I will hit 175 before I am 18 months out and will enjoy it so much I will decide to continue to lose. The lowest weight I ever remember seeing on a scale is 264 in high school, and the smallest I remember being was a size 16 as a child.
I can't wait to see what changes my body goes through in the coming months. I have some more NSV's I want to reach, like shopping in the misses section of a store that doesn't carry plus sizes, riding a roller-coaster with over-the-shoulder restraints that fit over my chest, riding a horse, crossing my legs like a lady, and unhooking my own bra from behind my back. Oh, and let's not forget some knee-high boots! Can't wait to get me a pair of those!
Thanks for all the support, everyone! I enjoy (mostly lurking) on the forum everyday and reading about your trials and successes.
