Yep, it's kidney stones again
I had some really bad back pain this afternoon (but the pain when I pee is variable from one day to another). It was bad enough that I debated whether or not to go to the ER, but I opted to take the last two oxycodone I had from my knee replacement surgery instead of spending hours at the hospital. I already have an appt on Thursday for a renal ultrasound so we can see what we are dealing with, I already ordered some of the Celebrate multi's with no calcium carbonate, and am trying the lemonade (with Truvia for sweetening) as someone here suggested. Not sure what else I can do...
i'm just kind of cranky about having a third round of kidney stones since my RNY 5.5 years ago, especially following a very emotionally charged week last week, trying to get back into the swing of things at work after being off for my knee surgery, and the remaining pain and stiffness in the new knee.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Goodness, Lora, sure am sorry to hear that you continue to have so much pain. You really have been hit with so many things. Please let us know what the ultrasound says as we care about you!
Nothing I can add to help you with your pain except my good wishes and prayers that this is all over for you soon. That is really rotten about it being your 3rd bout! Gracious me, just not fair at all.
I think you are really handling all of this so well. If I recall correctly, you even managed to post a pic of your adorable furball recently!
Hang in and know my prayers are with you. Will your doc prescribe more pain pills?
Yikes... I'm sorry !! That really sucks. Is it something (like a vitamin that your body didn't get enough of, or a food that you ate too much of ?

I am so sorry that you are feeling so bad. I am an ER nurse, and I can spot the kidney stone "dance" coming in the door. It is a horrible pain, I hear and have witnessed and I PRAY that it doesn't happen to me!! Take care. Lots of fluids (as I am sure that you know) to help flush them through. Take care!
Lora,
I'm so sorry you're having these difficulties - sounds very painful and I'm sure you're just sick of having the kidney stones recur so frequently. Add that to what you've been through with your knee surgery and you've been through a lot, physically and emotionally. Is there anything that can be done to help minimize the recurrence of the kidney stones, or is it just something that your body has a predisposition to?
Either way, it sucks big time! Hope you are soon feeling well. Please let us know how you are doing.
