OT: Gus (a few days short of 5 months)
That's where my poor dogs are sleeping now on the bathroom floor because it is marble tile. It's fun to wake up at 2am and not want to put on the light and have to kind of drag your feet into the bathroom so as not to step on a dog. lol I wish they made something soft for them to lie on that would get cool when the temp went up. Does that technology exist? Hmmm I have to check.
Lora,
I found this cool bed, I might give it a try, here is a link the reviews. They had it at Petco online.

Yes, I was going to reply that they have waterbeds for dogs, but you beat me to it! A friend had one for her Samoyed, but he didn't like the way it felt (I guess that, like a human waterbed, it feels a bit unsteady when they step on it) and wouldn't use it.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
He is very affectionate towards me, but getting significantly less snuggly as he grows. Chows are not snuggly by nature (even toward the person they are most bonded to) and they get hot very quickly on the rare occasions (as 9+ month old puppies and adults) that they DO snuggle.
