Muscle Milk
I was slightly lactose intolerant before WLS but afterwards, like so many others, I REALLY became lactose intolerant.
Now at 4 1/2 months out, as I slowly work my way through all the various kinds of protein shakes, I must admit that Muscle Milk powder is a winner for me. NO LACTOSE. Also comes in 30 flavors. Kind of high on the calories but I am still ingesting so few calories a day that I am not really worried. I use Walmart brand of lactose free milk or take a lactaid tablet and I am good to go. I cannot believe what a difference this is making. And I have tried other lactose free products such as egg white protein, pea protein and soy protein. Those were ok but this really is working for me. I love my shakes :)
They do make a light version and also ready to drink ones as well which I have not tried as I like to monkey around with my shakes and up the protein! Mad scientist here.
They are rich and creamy but that is how I like them. I guess if I made it with water it would be less thick.
So a recommendation for those suffering from stomach pains, pouch pains, gas, upset tummies, diarrhea.... you might give this a try. I have felt badly for so long I was not even aware that I was still not feeling great, LOL. Wow... amazing.
Does that show a % isolate vs. concentrate at all? I was just curious what the balance was and cost too if you can provide that. Also would like to hear from any vets on how their numbers compare when drinking mostly concentrate vs isolate. I have heard that the isolate is absorbed better, but I wonder how much truth/proof is in that theory. I didn't want to chance it so I've been buying 100% isolate but it's much more expensive.
My Lady, did you notice the Avatar change?

My Yoda! I did indeed note the avatar change and I absolutely love it. So fitting for you!
Hmm... let me go get my Muscle Milk and see if I can answer your questions. I paid 28 dollars for 2 lb container. It gives 32 servings.
IT does not give the ratio but I checked with my dietician at the surgeon's office and she said that concentrate mixes were fine and especially since I have been trying so many different ones. I honestly feel much more energy from Muscle Milk than with any others so for me, I am absorbing better is my guess. Also stay full for a lot longer with this. So for right now this is working for me. I think MM is cheaper online possibly except I have not explored it since I am ok with this price for now.
YES on the avatar. I cannot get my stuff shrunk down for an avatar. I am on a Mac and used the suggested program but what the hey. LOL.
I have a link somewhere for unflavored isolate somewhere here in Phoenix .. if I can find it I will send you the link as it was a really good price!
You are doing so great.... so happy for you!
Thanks for the protein info. I may just have to give that a shot.

Oooh, no dagger intended!
The (one of the only) cool thing about OH is that once you change your signature, it's changed forever, even backwards! It'll be as if it never was there. Our little secret. :)
*grin*
