Eight months ago

Eight months ago I had my gastric bypass. I was a little afraid but mostly hopeful that I was making a change to feel better. My original weight at my first visit was 258.5 and I had uncontrolled high blood pressure on three pills. I had just developed diabetes and my blodd sugars were in the 180s and 190s. I couldn't catch my breath when I went down my basement steps. I wore size 24 clothes and they were  tight and had constant back and knee pain. The day of surgery I weighed 253 and the goal I had set of 160 seemed like an unattainable dream. The reality was that I met that first goal at 6 months out and now have exceeded my final goal of 145. I have lost 118 pounds and now weigh 139 and some change. I wear a size 4 and they are getting loose and best of all my blood sugar and blood pressure are normal along with my bmi. I love to exercise now and walk 4 miles every day on my treadmill. I feel like I can do anything I set my mind to now. I am thankful every day for my surgeon and his staff and love my new healthy life. Have a great Monday everyone!

Wow!  What an inspirational story!  I started at about the same weight - think it's definitely going to take me longer to reach my goal. . . I seem to loose a little on the slow side.  Good for you!!
