It is attainable indeed! Sometimes it seems impossible, and I can't count how many times I've thought it wouldn't last. But the more I walk, the further away from that thought I get. Confidence builds at a snail's pace sometimes, but it does come. Best wishes to you!

Neen,
Thank you for writing this. This is beautiful and true. It was lovely to read this afternoon and meaningful for me, because I have the same joy and appreciation for my new life and I feel that I've been given a gift. I love the idea of yoga as celebration and I've been desiring mediation, too, in order to have a way to quiet my head and tune in better to my heart.
I loved the poem and the emotional reflection - both rang very true. I'm learning to sit with my emotions and just be present with them and not rush to "fix it" but just let them be. This is a huge change - and not the way anyone else in my family operates - so it is a new path for me.
I struggle with food issues, too, and your strength, wisdom, and positive approach are truly inspiring. Thank you for posting and for being here for those of us starting out on our new lifetime journies!
The light in me honors the light in you, too!! Namaste!
Yes, sometimes it's hard to sit with difficult feelings instead of trying to push them away immediately. It is funny how often we are willing to extend compassion to others while expecting mountainous efforts from ourselves. You are strong, and you will deal with those food issues. They may never entirely disappear, but they will be manageable.
If you're looking into yoga or meditation, I recommend finding a yoga studio that does kundalini meditation. Kundalini is mostly just chanting and practicing mindful breathing. If you want to get started with meditation slowly (those classes can be long), visit www.getsomeheadspace.com for a 10 minute / day practice that will help you focus and center yourself. Best wishes!
