Gosh without his forum I think I would be totally lost... I am 9 days out pre-op But Let me see if anybody knows what is going on with my left rib....When It first happen, was right after surgery  in the hospital they said it was gas from the surgery.  Well I still have a extreme case of it.... I will be fine one min and the next min I about to double over with it again... I have noticed its everytime I drink or eat something.    Don't hurt anywhere else but under the left rib.    Could it be something besides gas?    I am taking gas x and like I said it comes and goes but I have it more than I don't have it... I can only have 1 gas ex every 4 hours....  Has this ever happen to anyone else?    It doesn't move to my shoulder or back or anywhere but right in the same spot... Makes walking around very painful.

Thanks again for any help

Do you have a drain still? Mine hurt a lot and took my breath when he yanked it out. Just a thought I hope it's nothing serious

No, no drain.. They took that out when I left the hospital and it was on the other side... I guess it could be gas,,,,   All I know is it hurts... Thanks for replying

I still have nightmares about my drain being yanked out. Seriously.

Also, try smaller bites of food. Eat slower. Drink slower. If its plain water, try water with lemon or crystal light added. I had the same pain for the first 2 weeks until I started doing all of that.

RNY Surgery was on 4/12/2013. Now currently on the Never hungry ever bench

Starting weight: 320lbs

Current Weight:  203lbs

Your pouch is up underneath your left rib, so there is a LOT of stuff healing up in that location.  If it happens every time you eat OR drink, though, it is almost certainly something pouch or stoma related and you should consult your surgeon.

I am having the same issue.  I figured maybe I was taking to big of sips or drinking to quick.  Let me know if you find something out. I hope all is okay

Is it really Lora,  I guess I will call tomorrow then and see what they say.... It does help to release gas and it simmers down some.

Thanks again
