YUP ... OFF TO THE POOL TO SWIM LAPS!!! I could swim for HOURS at a time ... ohhhhh I so love to swim ... my favorite exercise of all .... I remember participating in so many swimming matches back in Panama in school ... swimming was second nature to us .....

This is my status as I head out of here and to the pool ...

OFF TO THE POOL TO SWIM LAPS ... my favorite exercise and de-stressor of all ... ohhh I could swim for hours at end ... at 6 years 3 months post RNY and keeping a total weight loss of 203 pounds off I am thankful for second chances ... this is my empowerment collage this day as I share snippets of my journey post weight loss surgery .... Over my mid fifties I got my life back with health and mobility on my battle against morbid obesity and its related diseases (5 of which are in remission) one day at a time ... one choice at a time... I pay it forward in my digital empowerment journal 'A Picture A Day Keeps the Pounds and the Inches Away'....

Thank YOU beautiful-er!!! Swimming is fun and an AWESOME exercise ... I love it ... but then I am biased ... I was on the swim team and also competed in national events in my country of origin .... after being morbid obese I slowly crawled up there since I came to America weighing 98 pounds wet and I had already graduated from Nursing School so go figure ... I stopped swimming ... I wish I had continued ... but children ..then life and then I LET morbid obesity happen ... and I stopped with no plausible excuse whatsoever so I am not even going to try to justify why I stopped ... I just did ... because I could have continued obese or not .... but I am glad I re-incorporated this awesome exercise years ago .... I love swimming and I can swim distance and speed ... I love it...

Thank you Rose ... oftentimes I post to encourage myself and to remind myself that I am blessed and that I do have Joy indeed.... it was very important for me to swim yesterday ... I was trying to remember my sister with gladness as I sat here miles away from home and my dearest sister' who passed a month and a half ago  had her ashes taken out to sea YESTERDAY ... she is now rests in eternal peace in the place she loved the most ... the beach of Pedasí in Panamá where I am originally from ...  there was my youngest sister Rosita and my niece and her best friend with the urn going out to sea... We grew up in the water ... we swam for play ... we all love to swim... as I swam yesterday I cried and I finally had closure ... I will remember her with happiness and JOY ... she IS in a better place....

Thanks for allowing me to share....

I can appreciate your love for swimming. I was a competitive swimmer when I was younger and have always been told that Im a fish out of water. I could swim for days. Im 5 weeks post op and was told that I can try swimming for some exercise now, and Im so ready. I just get self conscious (sp?) going into a gym to swim when other people are all skinny minnie. But hopefully soon ill be one of them too!

Sooooooooooo glad to meet another swimmer and fish out of water sista!!!!  I so appreciate you sharing this... If you can and have been cleared to swim or do water exercises go right ahead and get into tha****er .... there are a whole lot of exercises that you can do in the water early out too ... I also participate in aqua zumba but before I could get back to swimming full force I did participate in water aerobics and there was an array of people of all sizes ... I was very big myself and I hung right in there with the others .... their size or mine made no difference to me ... but when I the weight started melting off like crazy and my legs began to look like melted candles I took care of that too LOL there are awesome tidbits along the way .... I am hoping you pursue swimming again ... it is an awesome way to exercise and burn calories and staying fit ... but then you already know that ....
