Now that's my idea of cute, Lora!   It's so funny, but when I look at the pics, I can feel his fur in my fingers.  OK, I'm a nut case, I know, lolol.

His coat is VERY soft right now because he still has a lot of puppy fur, and is also growing his adult undercoat (which is quite soft) but has not yet started growing the adult outer coat ("guard hairs") which are still soft, but a different texture and not quite as soft as the undercoat.

I take every opportunity I can to hug him, pet him, rub him down, etc because the softness is so soothing.  We had multiple Chows when I was growing up, but even my mom and brother commented on how much softer his hair is than they remember any of our other dogs being even as puppies.

What a fuzzball.  He has been making me cry because of losing my old dog last month.  My new dog is coming on Sunday and I am so happy that I could just burst!

I am happy for you, too!  A new dog cannot erase the grief, of course, but goes a long way to bringing new joy to help balance things out.  I still miss Max terribly, and am still kind of in a mild kind of shock that he got sick and went downhill so fast (but obviously had been ill for quite some time and just hiding it), and thinking of him makes me cry (even typing this), but Gus is so affectionate, lively, and funny that it is hard to be sad for long.

Be sure to post pictures of your new fur baby!

He is beautiful!!! I used to have a black chow named Flower. These pics remind me of her.

All of our previous Chows have been red.  Since I grew up with them, I understand their unique temperament and am not fearful of them, but for some reason the black ones are a bit unsettling, and the blue ones look downright scary to me.  I think it is because you cannot really see the faces/expressions on the black ones.  I am sure i would get over it if i had one, though.  The blue ones... Well, not sure... the ones I have seen just look scary.

Thanks for posting puppy pics-they always make me smile! I just want to give him a big hug. Glad to hear your knee is doing better too.
