I had to take nausea medication for a couple days after. Ask them for that patch they put behind your ear. It works for 3 days and does a great job. I can't remember what it is called, but I am sure they will know.

Great job on being up and walking already! It took me a LONG time to be able to pee as well after surgery. I had surgery at 7am, and I still hadn't peed at about 9pm. They had the catheter all ready to go and I was just like "give me a few minutes!!!"   What finally helped me was splashing cold water on my under carriage and blowing air on it. LOL. Sounds crazy, but it made it happen. And after that first levee break, I was able to pee on my own perfectly fine on a regular basis. Hopefully you don't have to have a cath again. You are right, it isn't bad, but it is uncomfortable and a little bit humilating. Plus, being able to potty on your own will allow you to go home sooner!

Welcome to the loser's bench!

So glad it went okay for you! I just don' t want pain, and it sounds like they keep a person comfortable.
