I walked my first 5k today. I was proud of myself. I didn't finish last and my time was 50 minutes and 40 seconds. Not bad for 3.1 miles! Can't wait to do another one!!

That's awesome

When I walked my first two-mile, my goal also was to not come in last. There were three people behind me. The second time, there were a few more.

Part of my decision to have surgery is that I just can't keep up with my friends. I thought I did well on the second walk (38 minutes) but when I saw the race photos, I was disappointed. I was red, droopy, and soaked. My friend who did it with me looked like she just got up from a chair.

If I'm able, I'll do it again this fall. I don't know when I'll have surgery, so I may not be able. I'm hoping next year I can RUN it!

I really wish I could run but I've had knee replacements and jogging is a big no no.

Congrats on your  first 5 k. I too signed up to walk a 5 k never thought I would be  entertaining the idea of something like that.   It is in  later part of April and  I will be walking with friends  back in Missouri  and so excited to be  getting healthy.

God Speed and stay the course.
