Hair therapy/hair play ... SNIPPETS.... XP
Always wondered why since a small child combing/playing in ...changing my hair around always soothed me and calmed me down... when I stress I always head for the hair ...hmmm.. and that is just what I did this entire stressful weekend when we turned out house all three floors and 4 with the basement upside down and downside up looking for our dwarf ferret Chiquitita who managed to escape from her pen and has not been found since ... despite combing the neighborhood to which we are relatively new she has not shown up and we are about to throw in the towel.... I hope a good Samaritan picked her up and that she is not prey to other animals and I pray she does not turn up dead in between a wall or a couch I am beside myself. The strange thing is there is no signs of her ...not of her being loose and unattended as she would have ransacked the room or would have gone potty in a corner ... and except for the dryer exhaust which would have given her an escape to the outside (the dryer was moved away from the wall as we had workers in the basement on Friday) I can't possible find where she might have gone. She would respond to her name, we would hear her bells, she would have come out for treats that I left out for her and water ... nada.. gone ... I am beside myself and my son is going nutz ... our pets are well cared for and are family members ... our little escapists has been pulling these tricks for the years we have had her but this is the first time that she has left with no trace ... SIGH ... I am hoping but it is looking bleak...
SO I hair played ... with two small tracks of extensions in the front and spiking my own upward in the back... I saw this link as I set out to investigate why I love to play in hair especially when my spirit is trouble ... I found a link on Combing Therapy ... no idea if it is true or not but I can relate to several of the benefits...
And this is the result of Hair Play today ... it worked better than stuffing my face or biting my nails ... and it relaxed me A LOT ... still missing my dwarf ferret Chiquitita ... praying for her safe return...

Me before gastric bypass 6 years and 1.5 months ago ... maintaining for LIFE ... LOVING MY JOURNEY!
Another goofy thread... sharing Snippets of my journey ... on my walk away from morbid obesity one day at a time... one choice at a time....
These are SNIPPETS of MY journey .. what ever works for me I just take it, tweak it, perfect it, ignore it, shake it or break it ... . diversity rocks ... hey some can comb it, others can bru**** others can just shake it out and let it dry ... whatever works .. I am pretty certain that for each on thing that may work for one their is an opposing view on the other hand.... As far as I am concerned I am taking a little bit of this and a little bit of that and choosing joy over misery and let it happen to me ... forever grateful for all life lessons and all who share ...
First of all, I hope you find your Chiquitita!!!
Martitalinda, you're inspirational to me in more ways than one, let me tell you. Your journey with WLS, but also your creativity! I have very thin hair already. You can see my scalp in the sunlight. So you can imagine my fear of the hair loss when I finally have the surgery. I admire what you can do with hair and wish I was that creative! :)

My blog about my journey - Up From Under
The sky is the limit ... there are many aids out there as long as we avoid any harsh chemicals or stressors on the hair ... my own hair is short and thick and I can style, weave and braid and own 3 shops along with my GF and business partner so I get to play quite often ... we do not recommend sewed in pieces for thinning hair and NEVER use products with glue ... we don't advertise on here nor have ever sold ANYTHING product or service on here but I have mailed out/given free of cost tons of pieces including extensions and lace fronts to many.... Don't fret too much ... your hair will grow back in ... and if not ... again, there are MANY aids out there... even a low cut or a pixie are options ,,, there is so much that we can do ... and a little creativity goes a long way... thanks for allowing me to share...
This is me this morning ... yup I am goofy enough to play in my doll that my son gave me hair too... LOL
The hair is cute, but I feel bad about your ferret, I can't imagine a pet gone missing. My cat got outside a couple of times and I had a serious panic attack the first time. Like sick take me to the hospital attack. My son is much better with him now, so he rarely gets out and if he does he wants right back in. But that first time was hard. It is probably the reason I never owned a dog before, the whole going outside where it is not safe is hard on me. I like things to be safe and sound, at home, where they belong. I hope you find your ferret, I want to hear a happy ending to this story!
Thank you LadyLil, I am afraid we have lost our 'lil ferret though ... she was special and she bought us such happiness ... I am holding on to hope but I also have to deal with reality .... back in 2011 I wrote this about her ...
