Calories/Meal sizes
Two things.
#1 - that's a more appropriate question for your dietician. I could tell you what I eat but my metabolism and such is different from yours so what worked for me may not work for you. Do you have a nutritionist or dietician?
#2 - It also depends on other factors, like your activity, age, etc. Eating is just ONE piece of the weight loss "pie." To know what you should do you HAVE to consider the other pieces together with your caloric intake.

There's nutritionists that you can contact and go see. Again, you need to sit down and look at the full picture with someone.
1. What do you eat?
2. How far apart do you eat it?
3. How old are you?
4. Did you diet a lot in the past?
5. How active are you?
6. When was the last time you changed up your activity routine?
Those are just a FEW of the questions that it would take to arrive at the answers you're looking for. BUT to be fair if you list how active you are and what a normal eating day looks like for you folks can probably give better general advice. But a simple "what should I be eating?" isn't enough. Like I said, eating is one part of the total weight loss equation. You have to look at them all together to know where you should change stuff.

I agree with Nik.
But let me ask you this. How many calories do you currently consume in a typical day? Have you been losing weight, or staying the same?
With regard to protein, what's your goal weight? The ASMBS suggests 1.1 grams protein per kilogram of ideal body weight, which works out mathematically to about half gram per pound of your goal weight. Like, my goal weight is 140 so I would need about 70 grams of protein daily.
However, some people's labs show they need more protein than that. You should eat enough protein that your total protein level is at least 7.0 and your albumin level is at least 4.0. What were your total protein and albumin levels last time you had labs done?
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
My albumin was 4.2 and my protein was 7.0. I want to weigh 123, if possible again. (I regained after being put on meds.) I am 5'4 small build. I have been as low as 118 but went up to 123 and stayed there until meds.
I am not losing right now but I am trying very hard. I am tired of being stuck at 147. Today I will have 104 g of protein and 694 calories .
I am having labs done again soon.
What type of meals do you eat to get so much protein? I eat Greek yogurt, string cheese, ham and cream cheese roll ups, etc. for a snacks and double scooped shakes for 1 meal. Other meals are centered around protein.
Thanks!
I can't imagine how you are eating that much protein with that small amount of calories. To lose I eat 1000 calories and no more then 60 grams of protein, no reason to wear out my poor kidneys eating more protein. I try to walk as much as possible and don't start eating until dinner time. The nutritionist was useless in my opinion, I wouldn't waste my time or money. You know what you should eat now you have to figure out how much and when to lose weight.
